The various LCD instruments differ in their design
the tachometer and in the selector lever position (see section
7.1 "LCD instruments").
All vehicle-specific data is in the removable program memory
(Figure C 7518) included. The error codes are also stored in the program memory
and the tank calibration value is saved.
The program memory is a very reliable component. He
should only be replaced if
• an incorrect program memory is installed, or
• Error code 51 is saved.
Only the program memory assigned to the vehicle in the LCD instrument may be used
be installed (see section 5.2 "Test program,
Check program memory code and display "). If the program memory is defective
only this must be replaced. The LCD instrument is not replaced in this case.
The program memory is offered separately in the part program (see
"Program memory" tables, section 7.2, and "Program memory
Codes ", Section 7.3). The program memory code must be in addition to
Catalog no. will specify.
After replacing the program memory, the fuel gauge must be new
be adjusted (see section 8 "Adjusting the fuel gauge").
In the case of a defective LCD instrument, only the LCD instrument is
to replace. The program memory becomes the defective LCD instrument
removed and inserted into the new one (Fig. C 7519)
