How 2 fit an Omega Wiper Switch

The Omega wiper switch can be fitted to the Cavalier & Calibra.

El relé en cuestión es el 90 494 187 de seis patillas, por lo que es número 16 de la captura anterior (el primero no tiene el mismo s/n).

In the passenger footwell of a Cav 3 are some coloured 9 pin connectors. Cut out the black one and this will plug into the wiper switch.
While your there you might like to cut some wire for the fuel computer buttons. These run from under the centre console to the passenger side. You will require the following wire colours:
Brown/Red
Brown/White
Brown/Yellow

Instalation

Remove the steering cowling and slide out the old wiper switch.

You will see that there are 2 black/yellow wires. Connect a DVM between one of these and ground.

Turn the front wipers on in intermittant mode and locate the black/yellow wire which is positive.

Cut this wire allowing connections to be made to both ends.
Remove the old cavalier wiper switch by sliding it out and disconnecting it.

Connect one end of the cut wire to the new wiper switch black/yellow wire.
Connect the other end of the cut wire to the new wiper switch black/white wire.

The 3 remaining brown wires are for the fuel computer buttons.
Run these 3 wires to the rear of the fuel computer and connect them up.
You will probably have the remove the dash and centre airvents to do this.

Wiper Switch. Fuel computer end Function

Brown/Red to Brown/Red (Mode Switch – S )
Brown/White to Brown/White (Reset Switch – R )
Brown to Brown/Yellow (Common earth wire)

Lastly remove the old cavalier wiper relay from the fuse box and fit the omega relay in its place.

For the techincally minded the wiper switches varaible resistor varies between 690R & 5K

Huy que chulo, mañana a buscar relés.
